Drama in the Ordinary...

So my new painting project is to find drama in the ordinary. To find beauty, interest, stillness, drama, anything in the everyday world. So this was alittle complicated for me. I could not for the life of me figure out something that was drama in the ordinary and something i want to paint for a month, and still be me. But i took some of my pretty little paper boats and put them out in the ordinary to create drama and these photos are what my squishy brain and camera came up with:

little list of big things!!!!

So it is friday again and i have 2 days of quiet cause little brothers are at the pops house. So that means i can get somethings done!!! Here is a list of things i need to do:
---finish my still life painting
---work on my fabric buildings
---work on my astronomy problems

---finish my kite
---work on my new shirt(i just finished one and now i am starting a new shirt)
---work on my 2010 calender
---work on miss cassibelle's christmas present!!!!!!!!!!:)
---watch halloween movies!!!!

Das WEEKEND!!!

So everyone we made it through another week!!! Well here are the weekend plans:

-MOON Observing: i will be looking for the craters and such known as Theophilus, Cyrillus, Catharina, Petavius, and Hipparchus on the MOON( or i will if it isnt cloudy or rainy) at Shepherd University

-Painting and more painting

- studying for midterms( which are this coming week)

-DOING WHAT I LOVE- making my sculptures!!!!!

- Decorating my room and studio: if you have any ideas or pictures that you find beautiful for decor please let me know cause i kinda need some help ... i know sad

- and hopefully some sleeping!!!

The Steve Malick Memorial Golf Tournament

Steve Malick is a man that i have known my whole life. He worked with my dad for LCSA for more than 20 years. Steve Malick was a good and funny man that lead a interseting life. Last year he passed away. This year my dad, some people from his work , and Steve's family started a memorial golf tournament in his name. The money form the entrys to the tournament will go to a scolarship in Steve's name to help a student go to college. As a contribution to this wonderful cause i drew a golf picture of a man on a course at sunset. Its a beautiful picture. The picture will be presented to Steve's sister at the lunch after the tournament. Which i am attending.

I know this sounds depressing. But really its not. He was a good man and would love the fact that he gets to be a reason for all his work friends to take off work to golf. I love that i was able to do a beautiful piece of art in his memory.

Its not bad to remember. Its good to remember those we care for. But to do it in a way that honors their memory. So today think of some one you have lost and honor them. Remeber them and celebrate them.

INGRID IS HERE!!

So after a tiring day of studying the history of art and astronomy I came home. And to my wonderment when i walked through the door and came in to rest on my favorite overstuffed chair was a package from the one and only Pang from Pretty Little Fings!!!!!! I recieved the amazing Ingrid the football lovin quilter vampire bat!!! Its so amazing and pretty i cannot wait to hang it up in my room!!!! the daily wanderings

this morning while i was tirelessly trying to get a hold of the MVA i was surfing the net , reading wonderful blogs enjoying my morning till i have to get ready for college. And i was reading the wonderful blog of poppytalk and from that wonderful blog i bounced to Something's Hiding in Here and then from that amazing blog i found The Curiosity Shop and that shop lead me to my last find the awesome Uppercase shop, blog, magazine, and all around amazing site. I think that anyone of these sites is worth visiting !! They all are!!! So take a gander!! They have awesome products and people running them. So take a peek and have a AWESOME time!!!

a day of wonderment.....

Today i ate , read , drove, shopped, and spent time with one of the best people i know- Cassie!!! I had a amazing day of relaxation and and fun i got to drive and think about my art that I doing and art that i want to do. It was amazing. I love driving and thinking! dont you? Then i hung out and went to borders and found some new art to love and i talked and listened to Pavarotti. Cassie and i hung out and talked which i just love and now here i am wrapping up a wonderful day by reading blogs that inspire and make me feel wonderful. I cannot wait to for the next Lovely Package Exchange by oh hello friend. ive been reading about it and seeing pics of people that have done it and it is just awesome!

Tomorrow i teach sunday school and then rest some more. And Monday is still a wonderful adventure yet to be planned. enjoy you weekend friends and the artist in the open will come very soon!!!

my little ships of knowledge

The other night i was playin in my studio and i was trying to make some paper boats. i have some library cards that i aquired and for fun i made them into these beautiful little ships of knowledge! isnt it amazing what you can come up with when using your wonerful knowledge and some old paper!!!

This will be a blog that i will try to do weekly about a artist that i have found and think are just amazing!!!They will range from known international to local artist, to widley known artist to artists that i want to help become more widely known. They will work in different mediums and do art that is altogether different but totally original!! The blog will be about some of their history and their work. So this evening i was bouncing around absorbing all the beautiful entrys from so many wonderful artist!! and i was on the Cakies blog and read about this wonderful project that she took part of. Gram Crackers....

This weekend I went to see my lovely Grammy. We watched movies and did some house work. Mostly we ran between the rain drops!!! We did some antique shopping and found some awesome old doorknobs!!!! I love old doorknobs and keys and keyholes!!! To me they are the keeper of secerts and gateways to worlds unknown! Anyway, me and Grammy ate, shopped, cleaned, and relaxed. It was an amazing weekend and i loved every minute of it!I recommend a weekend with the your grandmother to anyone!!!! Have a marvelous end of your sunday!!!

Contemporary American Theater Festival

Here i am at (Bryce's) desk doing my work for the Contemporary American Theater Festival. They are a amazing group of people that i get to work around. I do a little bit of everything in the office. And as hard as it is i have learned so much and i do like it. Theater is a very tough mistress but when you treat her with love, respect, admiration she is your life and love for the rest of your exsistence. This is a amazing company, Ed Herendeen is the magic man that started this whole thing and it is just awesome!!! And Peggy, Lissa, and Catherine make this company run. Those four are CATF and i am proud to work among them. I wanted to share this with you because it is such a great company and they truly porduce the most contemporary plays of today. Hunting...

A few days ago i was on my was to my friend Cassie's wonderful hundred acre wood. And the day was so beautiful and for the first day in a awhile i wasnt thinking about my worries or troubles i had a amazing drive and and i stopped at one of my favorite antique shops Beaver Creek Antiques. There i found these beautiful treasures. I love hunting through old racks of postcards and finding some that make me laugh or sigh. And finding them with sweet messages of longing and love. oh i just love it!! and i have started a molds collection and i found some there. Both of these items can be found for a couple dollars or less and they are just amazing finds of days long past that you can hang on to or turn in to art or just savor!!!!

And the day goes on.....

Today i just read the last book of my David Edding seris and i just loved it!!! And then i started a wonderful new book that is also a wonderful new movie The Time Travelers Wife!!! And so far it is wonderfully delicious!!! Then i took the bros shoppin and found some treasures at suncoast!!! So if you are reading anytime in the furture please let me know you loves in the movie and book areas!!! Those arts are amazing i am a total book and movie addict!!! so let me know the book and movie loves oof your life!!!

Who Will Comfort Toffle?

Yesterday i received an amazing book straight from Finland. My dear Annika had her father and sister bring me a childrens book famous in Finland when they came to visit her here in America. The book is called Who Will Comfort Toffle? by Tove Jansson. The book made me cry alittle. Its about a little man named Toffle who was very lonely and was traveling trying to find someone who will be there for him. During his journey he comes across a message from a Miffle who needs saving from a very scary Groke. So Toffle decides to save Miffle and they stay together and become friends. I recommend everyone to read this book it is absolutly amazing. I love the book. Thank you my dear Wonder Woman!

This is part of a song by Nickelback and i just love it. I think that it is amazing and ever since i have heard it and thought about it, it makes me want to do just that. To go against the grain as the way of my life. To live my life without regrets and to have fun and to do whats right and be ok when i make a mistake.To realize that true perfection is being able accept yourself and your mistakes as who you are and that they all make you who you are. I would not be who i am without my mistake and triumphs. So bring it on world i am going to live my life how i feel its right for me even if its crazy weird and unique!
